We migrate the environment, put it on a monthly plan, and hand over the documentation. The monthly fee covers helpdesk, monitoring, patching, backup and quarterly reviews. The first invoice you receive is the same as the eleventh. There are no surprise call-out charges during business hours for issues covered by the plan.
We do not flip the switch on day one. We spend the first two weeks on a site survey, a device inventory, a backup verification, a patch audit and a user access review. We produce a one-page findings report and fix the top three gaps before the first monthly invoice. Then we run the environment the way it should have been run all along.
